LARSSON PENS PERMANENT DEAL
On-loan Arsenal midfielder Sebastian Larsson has today officially become a Blues player after completing aa a £1m move and signing a four-year contract.
The Swedish under-21 international has been an impressive addition to Steve Bruce's squad since moving to St. Andrew's last summer.
Larsson's loan from the Emirates Stadium was due to expire at the end of the season but Blues have snapped him up on a permanent deal in order to head off interest from other clubs.
The Swede has proved his versatility by operating in defence and midfield for Blues and he is currently in a rich vein of form in front of goal by scoring in each of the last three games, including an impressive free-kick strike in the weekend FA Cup defeat to Reading.
In fact Larsson has been Blues' cup king this season with five of his six goals coming in knock-out competitions in his 34 appearances for the club.
Boss Steve Bruce said: "We are delighted to finally conclude the deal to bring Seb here on a permanent basis.
"He has done very well since he has been here and he can play in a number of positions.
"He is young, hungry and ambitious and he epitomises the type of player we need to push this club forward."
